Adjustment for unmeasured confounders in a pharmacoepidemiologic case-control study of Parkinson's disease using external Constances data (UCOPE-PD)

I00MEPA
This project is part of a research program conducted within the research center in epidemiology and population health (CESP, Inserm U1018, Univ Paris Saclay) and funded by the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research which aims to identify, among the drugs already on the market whatever their indication, those which could be associated with Parkinson's disease, in particular the drugs which could be protective. To do this, a case-control study was set up, nested in the SNDS. The specific methodological objective of this project is to evaluate the benefit of using external validation data from the Constances cohort to control for unmeasured confounding. Propensity scores associating drug exposure to the SNDS variables only, on the one hand, and to the SNDS variables enriched with those of the Constances questionnaires, on the other hand, will be constructed and compared according to the calibrated propensity score methodology.
