The impact of paternity leave on female employment in France

Most European countries have introduced paternity leave in recent decades, and one of the purposes of these reforms is to increase women's participation in the labour market through a more equal distribution of parental care between men and women. The aim of this project is therefore to determine whether the introduction of paternity leave in France has had an impact on the employment rate, number of hours worked and wages of women. To do this, I intend to use data from the DADS (annual declaration of social data) Panel and the EDP (permanent demographic sample), which will provide me with detailed data on women's employment and fertility. Using a discontinuity regression method, I aim to compare the employment of women who gave birth to their last child just before and just after the paternity leave reform.
