Nationality declaration, legal status and feelings of identity

DECLANA
To complete existing studies, we will use the Permanent demographic sample (EDP panel) which will enable us to confront nationality declarations made by immigrants and their children born in France (we’ll go back to 1968), with a longitudinal monitoring of the descendants’ declaration. They will be identified as such when at least one immigrant is part of the household. This way we will not only provide an estimate of the bias in the declarations, we will also identify individual (professional and educational “level”, family type, age, gender) and environmental characteristics which may influence the bias itself in these declarations.
