Effects of Multiple sclerosis on Occupational trajectories

The EMOJI study focuses on analyzing the occupational trajectories of people with multiple sclerosis (MS). MS is a neurodegenerative disease that usually starts between the ages of 20 and 40 and affects 2 to 3 women for one man. This crippling chronic disease has an impact on working life. The objectives of our project are to be able to quantify the impact of MS on the occupational trajectories in the short and medium term; but also to be able to measure the effects of MS on the occupational trajectories according to different characteristics such as sex and age of the patients, as well as their level of salary at entry into the labor market. In addition, the study will analyze the exit from the labor market by the recognition in "invalidity" granted by the health insurance. The results will make it possible to identify the paths that lead with a high probability towards disability and to detect action to delay the withdrawal of the job as much as possible. The study will focus on the exploitation of career data matched to health insurance data provided by the Hygie database.
