Python, R, Julia, DuckDB, Spark, Git… interactive knowledge bases for use within the CASD "bubble"
|
|
Since the beginning of the year, CASD has been providing interactive knowledge bases, accessible via a link within the secure bubble. The objective is to centralize all best practices regarding the tools and data available in the secure environments.
A wide range of topics is covered: data science tools (Python, R, Julia), the installation of their built-in packages, the use of Git and collaborative tools, data storage, processing large volumes of data with Spark, and more.
These knowledge bases are constantly evolving and will cover new topics based on user feedback and questions, as well as the technological monitoring performed by the CASD teams.

Authorization of the "Prométhée" SNDS Health Data Hub
|
|
|
|
The "Prométhée" SNDS health data hub reached a decisive milestone on March 26th with the receipt of authorization from the French Data Protection Authority (CNIL).
The Prométhée hub aggregates data from the National Health Data System (SNDS), including Health Insurance databases (SNIIRAM) and hospital data (PMSI/ATIH). Its objective is to facilitate complex longitudinal studies by streamlining the process and reducing the need for multiple one-off access requests.
As a certified health data host (HDS and ISO 27001 certified), CASD provides the technological infrastructure required to host projects led by a wide range of stakeholders (institutions, public bodies, learned societies, academic actors, and healthcare industry players). It will also enable the four founding companies (Epimentis, Horiana, RCTs, and stève consultants) to conduct their own research projects.

Key topics include:
- General architectural features (In-process, database file, configurationless, vectorization, etc.)
- Syntax highlights (FROM-first, negative SELECT, etc.)
- Window functions – for calculations across row groups (RANK, LAG, etc.)
- Disk and RAM optimization: encoding, streaming, memory limiting, and more. …
- Extensions and modules (UI, Spatial, Parquet, S3, etc.)
- Usage examples with R, Python, and Julia.
