The purpose of the study is first of all to understand the determinants of severance pay for dismissals with no cogent or serious reason determined by Prudhommes (Employment Appeals Tribunal) and the Court of Appeal. Exploring these determinants will allow us to assess and quantify uncertainty about the cost of dismissal faced by firms and employees at the time of hiring. A second step in the study will be to identify the impact of CDI (long-term work contract) disruption costs on labor market performance.
