The impact of imported Chinese inputs on the occupational composition within firms

The main goal of this study is to analyze the impact of the occupational composition within French firms in the manufacturing sector. I will rely on an econometric analysis using micro-level data. In a linear empirical equation, I will use imported inputs from China as an independent variable and the share of workers across different occupations as my dependent variable. To reduce endogeneity concerns, I will use as an instrumental variable the exports of Chinese inputs to other developed countries outside the European union. In order to realize this project, I will nedd to use French firm level confidential data to be able to analyze workers adjustment mechanisms within firms and to get credible results.
