National Cancer Registry: The SFdS calls for vigilance
The French Statistical Society (SFdS) recently published a note concerning the decree establishing the National Cancer Registry. While the public health objective is universally shared, statisticians raise concerns about the ‘redundancy’ of existing data collections and an information gathering process deemed ‘limitless.’ This opinion serves as a reminder of the crucial importance of respecting the principles of proportionality and purpose in the use of health data.
The CASD was honored to host Ms. Monica Pickard, Director of the Statistics Canada Center for Research and Excellence in Artificial Intelligence, on March 16.
On February 17, 2026, a session dedicated to the preparation of European Commission calls for proposals brought together representatives from research funding agencies.
