CASD is launching a new project with Meta to facilitate researchers’ access to public data from Meta platforms.
Public data from Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and other Meta platforms is a valuable resource for analyzing contemporary social dynamics, and an increasing number of researchers are using or want to use this type of data.
It is in this context that Meta and CASD have joined forces to facilitate access to this data for research and studies in the public interest.
The aim was to draw on CASD’s experience and expertise to implement faster application processing procedures, while introducing criteria to ensure independent assessment.
CASD will also be involved in the independent evaluation of research requests seeking access to the Meta Content Library, a repository that includes public data from Facebook, Instagram, Threads, and Facebook Marketplace.
