A gradual shift from collective bargaining at sector level to the firm level?

ARTENBR
In the context of institutional reforms that aim at promoting collective bargaining at firm level, this research proposes to analyse the dynamics of firms collective bargaining and their relationship with agreements concluded at sector level. We firstly try to identify the trends of collective bargaining by questioning the effectiveness of the increased legal incentive of bargaining at firm level and by studying the hypothesis of a gradual shift from collective bargaining at sector level to firm level. We then propose to question the dynamics of corporate social democracy that stem from the diversity of types of interrelationships between sector and firm collective bargaining. From a methodolical point of view, this work is based on a statistical analysis of the REPONSE survey, a legal analysis of the agreements concluded, and some interviews conducted within the establishments and sectors.
