CarePat-YBC: Describing the specific medical pathways of young women diagnosed with Breast Cancer in France using SNDS data

CAREPAT
In 2018, 58459 women were diagnosed with Breast Cancer in France. Breast Cancer is the top rank cause of mortality by cancer in France in 2018 with an estimation of 12416 deaths. Still in 2018, 5% of Breast Cancer were diagnosed in women aged less than 40 years old (INCa). Specific care pathway concerns for young women are few taken into account in actual medical recommendations: (i) the absence of systematic screening often leads to a delated diagnosis, (ii) the over-representation of BRCA1 and BRCA2 mutations conducts to frequent indications of oncogenic referral and (iii) young women specific needs concerning their future quality of life should be encountered (priority to conservative surgery, fertility preservation procedures proposal, choice of an efficient non-hormonal contraception...). The project CarePat-YBC aims at describing the specific medical pathways of young women diagnosed with Breast Cancer in France using data from the "Système National des Données de Santé" (SNDS).
