The aim of this project is to understand the rationale behind projections made by final-year students in the Pays de la Loire region, in order to grasp social and territorial inequalities in the pursuit of post-bac studies, both theoretical (set of wishes formulated) and real (assignment accepted). The underlying hypothesis of this project is that inequalities in career paths are partly explained by inequalities in aspirations. Indeed, high school students do not project themselves in the same way in the space of higher education streams: they do not aim for the same courses and do not match their wishes in the same way. The aim is to be able to produce statistical and cartographic typologies of applications according to candidate characteristics (types of training included or excluded, types of establishment included or excluded, geographical territories included or excluded).
