As the population living with HIV (PLHIV) ages, comorbidities are becoming more frequent and may exacerbate health inequalities. Few studies have compared the health status of PLHIV to that of the general population with similar social characteristics. The JASMIN project, based on the CONSTANCES cohort, aims to address this gap using comparable data for PLHIV and non-PLHIV. The project’s objectives are to compare physical, mental and cognitive health indicators between PLHIV and non-PLHIV, accounting for social and lifestyle factors, to assess the impact of HIV diagnosis on professional trajectories and to identify the determinants of health inequalities related to aging with HIV. The results will help better understand the impact of HIV on overall health and social inequalities and they will inform targeted prevention, follow-up, and support strategies for PLHIV.
