In this project, we look into the impact of acquirer’s home country institutions, as they relate to gender equality, on gender diversity outcomes at the acquired firm. We investigate if foreign firms that acquire French firms carry over practices and norms that impact gender diversity to these French firms. The outcomes we study are the share of female employees the share of female employees in a managerial position, the gender wage gap and the likelihood of having a woman as CEO. We also look into the mechanisms through which these changes are brought about.
