Minimum wage, inequalities and economic growth: the case of French departments in the Americas

Many employees in the Antilles and the Guyane regions are paid minimum wage even after working for many years at the same company. We will try to understand this phenomenon by analyzing the situation of a panel of individuals, both before and after the convergence with the metropolitan minimum wage. We will therefore try to measure this exogenous variable’s impact on salary inequalities and economic growth.
