Road transport accounts for more than 90% of greenhouse gas emissions from the transportation sector in France. Understanding the implications of policies aimed at reducing carbon emissions from passenger vehicles and freight transport will be essential for lowering overall greenhouse gas emissions.
This project aims to use econometric methods and develop models to understand the economic effects of policies that support the decarbonization of the passenger and freight transport sectors. Our analysis will focus on measuring the transport sector's response to increases in fuel prices. A first objective is to assess the overall economic costs of emissions reduction for individuals and transport companies. We will then analyze how these costs are distributed across individuals and freight transport firms.
