Prospective of the food system in France : vision of jobs and forms of work in the agricultural sector in 2050

SYSALIM
The CIRED (CNRS - AgroParisTech - ENPC - EHESS) has led a research project (2019 - 2022) aimed at describing low-carbon scenarios for the food system in France in 2050. As part of a new research consortium including other research labs (CIRAD, Aix-Marseille University, Montpellier University), the project proposes to analyse, from a quantitative and qualitative point of view, the changes in agricultural employment suggested by different low-carbon trajectories of the food system in 2050. It consists of various tasks: 1) Analysis of changes in jobs, forms of work in the agricultural sector, by commodity chain. 2) Approach of forms of work by sector: quality of life, rights and health at work. 3) Social issues, social, organizational and technological innovations and future prospects. 4) Quantitative and qualitative description of jobs, forms of work, company structures, stories by scenario in 2050. Tasks 2 and 3 will use qualitative methods (interviews and workshops with stakeholders).
