Representation and Political Participation among Immigrant-Origin Voters: Evidence from France

This research project focuses on immigrant-origin voters' political participation, measured via their turnout at national elections. In particular, we are interested in the role of representation and in the effect of immigrant-origin citizens running for office on voter turnout. This research question is significant insofar as immigrant voters tend to participate to a lesser extent in political life than the rest of the population, which hinders their integration into host societies more broadly.
