Temporary migration of workers to and within the european union

EBOPMIG
The European Birds of Passage project examines the legal framework for temporary labour migration in the European Union and, in particular, the way in which the labour and social rights of temporary migrant workers are treated under EU and national law. The project covers three types of temporary labour migration : posting of workers, seasonal work, and intra-corporate transfers. It combines systematic document analysis, historiography, and quantitative methods to develop empirical legal reseearch that explores key concepts underlying the overall legal approach to this phenomenon. This project will open new frontiers for research on temporary labour migration, contribute to evidence-based policy making, and increase the visibility of EU-led research in an area that dominates debates on migration at the global level.
