The impact of work from home on productivity and firm dynamics
The Covid-19 pandemic has triggered a massive increase in the number of firms relying on work from home, persisting well beyond the end of the public health emergency. Our research project aims to study the reasons why firms continue to use work from home, and the impact of these new work arrangements on productivity. In particular, we want to analyse which types of firms use work from home the most, and which firms benefit most from it. This will help us to better understand the drivers of this important trend, as well as its effect on industry structure, the level and the growth of rate of aggregate productivity.
