FARE Réunion : Annual structural statistics of companies from the ESANE scheme – Réunion

The Annual structural statistics of companies from the ESANE scheme – Réunion is the individual accounting file for the Reunion Island territory. Its objective is to establish a coherent set of statistics on companies. It combines administrative data (obtained from the annual profit declarations submitted by companies to the tax authorities, and from social data that provide information on employees) and data obtained from a sample of companies surveyed by a specific questionnaire to produce structural business statistics. The scope of ESANE (Elaboration of Annual Enterprise Statistics) is market companies, with the exception of the financial sector and agricultural holdings. This field is defined according to French NAF business activity codes. The FARE files for Reunion have existed since 2011 and, since 2015, these files are archived annually. Companies in the French overseas departments are included in the metropolitan FARE with a simplified calculation procedure, based exclusively on tax data. However, the quality of the data for companies in Reunion is better in the FARE Reunion database. To be able to compare two successive years, the files available span two years: the file for year (n-1) with the methods (adjustments, imputations, etc.) for year (n) and the file for year (n) with the methods for year (n). Both files contain the same variables.
