Le dispositif d'enquêtes « Autonomie » réalisé par la DREES a pour objectif de mesurer le nombre de personnes handicapées ou en perte d'autonomie selon différentes définitions, de décrire leur état de santé et leurs conditions de vie, et d'analyser les difficultés qu'elles rencontrent dans la vie quotidienne et la participation à la vie sociale. Le volet Autonomie Ménages s'intéresse aux personnes qui vivent en ménage ordinaire quel que soit leur âge.
