The spatial organization of the French health system: what are the territorial issues for supply of urban medicine?

ORSPASA
The question of the spatial distribution of general practitioners (GPs) has become central. We wish to examine the role of residential factors in the location of self-employed GPs, based on the existing literature on the factors of their professional location (Blanco-Cazeaux, 2022; Dumontet et al., 2016), their choice of installation (CNOM, 2019) and the link between their professional and residential location (Didier et al., 2022). The originality of our research lies in highlighting and understanding the role of territories and the spatial anchoring of GPs spatial anchorage in the study of their location. Our hypothesis is that the location of private GPs depends on specific residential factors that are not uniform across territories. We need data on the location of GPs, their background and their integration into a household. These data are available in the population census produced by INSEE (individuals).
