IRRINAQ
This project aims to explore the diversity of irrigation-related issues in a large region such as Nouvelle-Aquitaine, three-quarters of which is classified as a water distribution zone (ZRE). Water is a limited resource in this region, requiring local allocation and prioritization. All the more so with climate change. On the one hand, the available resource is decreasing (-30 to 40% of low-water flows on the Charente river, Charente 2050), while on the other, the demand for water by cultivated plants is increasing (France Stratégie, 2024). Based on the Neo-Aquitaine context, we propose to adress two questions: a distributive question (what are the socio-technical profiles of professionals who mobilize greater or lesser water quotas?) and an integrative question (In the catchment area, to what productions is water turned? What are the local socio-economic impacts?)
