EC Mariages : Civil Register - Marriages

The Civil Register of Marriage file contains the details of marriage bulletins sent by the local authorities (metropolitan France, overseas departments and three overseas communities) having registered the marriages. The statistical files made available contain the marriages of persons of different sexes and (since 2013) those of the same sex. These files have undergone modifications due to changes in the marriage records themselves. For example, as a result of the filiation reform, which came into effect in 2006 and eliminated the distinction between legitimate and natural children, the variables concerning the legitimization of children through marriage contain no information for marriages celebrated after 01/07/2006. These statistical files provide information on the date of the marriage, on the socio-demographic characteristics of the spouses (age, nationality, country of birth...) and geographical information (the place of marriage, the place of residence...).
