Digitalisation, energy transition, innovation and performance of firms

The current debate on the digital transition highlights that the diffusion of digital technologies may affect business activities, the evolution of sectors and long-term economic growth. Thanks to their potential to induce energy efficiency, digital technologies can also contribute to the development of renewable energy sources and encourage sustainable production practices, helping modern economies to accomplish the energy transition. In this context, France plays a leading role in both the digital and the energy transitions. The purpose of this research project is therefore to document the dynamics of digitization at the level of French firms and to assess the impact of digital technologies on their economic performance and energy consumption.
