This project assesses the effectiveness of public employment policies in France through two main areas. The first will analyze the essential role of France Travail (formerly Pôle emploi) in combating unemployment and supporting job seekers toward professional integration, particularly its ability to maintain effectiveness during the Covid-19 crisis. The study will focus on organizational adaptation, changes in job seeker profiles, and local disparities. It will aim to identify the institutional levers that promote the resilience of the public employment service. The second area will examine the Youth Commitment Contract (Contrat d’Engagement Jeune in French), introduced after the health crisis, and assess its impact on young beneficiaries' access to employment asa well as on the quality of jobs obtained (contract type, salary, duration). Particular attention will be given to heterogeneous effects depending on vulnerability and the characteristics of the supported youth.
