Impact of acquiring foreign subsidiaries on French employment
The aim of this project is to shed light on the impact of foreign subsidiaries acquired by French groups on their internal organization and employees. Specifically, it aims to answer two types of question. Firstly, what is the role of these foreign subsidiary networks in the development of the companies? Are they aimed at reducing production costs or improving access to foreign markets? Secondly, what are the consequences of the presence of these subsidiaries on the organization of production in France? Are we seeing reorganizations within companies, towards more qualified activities (research and development, marketing, etc.)? An impact on different types of employees? What about the ways in which the workforce adjusts to this restructuring of production? Do we see employees being trained for new jobs, being retrained within the company?
