Key factors in enterprise development in France

The aim of this study is to examine the impact of certain sociodemographic characteristics (for example, gender, years since graduation, or possession of managerial experience in specific fields) on entrepreneurship. We want to take advantage of the study conducted by Hombert, Schoar, Sraer and Thesmar (2017) that analyzes how French reform providing insurance for unemployed workers stimulates business creation. While the authors fuel the debate on the effectiveness of French reforms stimulating entrepreneurship, they do not focus specifically on the creation of start-ups following these reforms.
