The aim of this project is to study the multi-location of individuals and social groups in order to understand their movements between different parts of France. Breaking with the dominant tendency in the social sciences to study individuals through the prism of a single place, the aim is to study the role played by the now increasingly multiple spatial locations of individuals and groups in their social positioning and socialisation. While official statistics will be used to objectivise movements in geographical space, ethnographic surveys will be carried out in various fields in order to study, on the one hand, what the frequentation of different spaces does to the socialisation of individuals, and on the other hand, what these movements do to localised social spaces. The project is intended as an empirical and conceptual contribution to the study of the structuring of society in relation to mobility.
