Producer : Insee

The Spatial comparison survey on price levels between metropolitan France and overseas departments (IPC Compar) is a survey that compares prices between different regions to obtain an overview of representative consumption for each region. In particular, it compares prices between the French overseas departments, Corsica and metropolitan France (excluding Corsica) and between the Paris metropolitan area and the rest of metropolitan France. The IPC Compar source is available in the form of a database that contains the average price surveys for products representative of the region and comparable from one region to another. Statistical individuals are the basic units described, i.e. the average price for a given item for a given region, the associated weight in household consumption in the region and the price comparison index between two regions. The sample for this survey is drawn from a survey based on a quota method according to three criteria (geographical criterion, product type and outlet type). The data are made available in seven tables containing the same variables, comparing metropolitan France with the Paris metropolitan area, Corsica, Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Mayotte and Martinique.
