OPISE : Survey on observation of prices in industry and services
Producer: Insee
Authorisation: Statistical Confidentiality Committee
The Survey on Observation of Prices in Industry and Services measures monthly or quarterly changes in transaction prices for goods and services, differentiating between domestic and foreign markets. It surveys a sample of companies which are asked to transmit indicators of the selling price of "reference services", products which are representative of their production, for each survey period. The evolution of these indicators over time is used to construct price evolution indices. The unit of study is the "branch", i.e. the production of a set of products falling under a four-position level of the French Product Classification (CPF). A legal unit which produces products from several branches will be treated separately. The geographical scope of the survey is the whole of France, including the overseas departments. However, the sampling approach adopted drastically limits the questioning of companies located in French overseas departments and Corsica.
