Years : 2007
+

Producer : Ministry of Agriculture (SSP)

The Orchard Structure Survey covers the main fruit species: common apples, common pears, peaches, apricots, oranges, lemons, small-fruited citrus. In France, the scope of this survey is extended to a larger number of fruit species to meet the demand of public authorities and professional organizations, namely, plums, cherries, kiwis and nuts. The survey provides information on the descriptive factors of the production potential of orchards: varieties, age, planting densities, etc. The sample includes approximately 6500 farms with at least 50 acres of orchard and 9 species, across 14 regions of metropolitan France. It covers the structure of the farms, cultivation practices, and marketing.
