The purpose of the New Housing Cost Price survey is to collect the data needed to calculate the Construction Price Index (CPI). This index has been calculated since the fourth quarter of 1953 and pertains to new construction for residential use. The Cost Price of New Housing survey data thus includes information on: - Dates of contracts and works carried out (dates of pricing, dates of contract signature, starting dates of works, duration of works, etc.) - Description of project managers and project owners (French company number (SIREN), Town/City, Names, etc.) - Description of the housing (types, surface areas, energy performance, description of heating and hot water systems, etc.) - Services included in contracts - Contract prices. The survey is based on a sample drawn from the SITADEL building permit database and is conducted in two phases. The first is to check that the permit falls within the scope of the survey and to obtain the contact details of the project manager. The second phase consists of asking the project manager about the prices of construction contracts. The sample includes building permits for residential buildings issued in metropolitan France.
