Urban inequalities study via digital data sharing

UNURNUM
This project aims to analyse the unequal earnings distribution of Airbnb rentals and the spatial impact of this new type of rental on a fine urban scale. Matching FIDELI data linked to Airdna data and population census data will identify the owners renting characteristics via these platforms and thus to analyse the earnings distribution in this sector. This research will also identify whether these short-terms rentals reduce the long-term rentals supply and whether this may encourage changes in the new inhabitants characteristics (spatial segregation). These elements will be completed by the eviction effects analysis of low income populations by Airbnb rentals (eviction effect for example observed for students in certain university and tourist cities, but probably generalisable to the gentrification of the metropolitan centers).
