Quantifying and qualifying multifunctional farms listed in the Farm Accountancy Data Network ("RICA")

Farms produce other goods and services than just food. To study these benefits, we wish to access the General Agriculture Census (“RGA”) Farm Accountancy Data Network (“RICA”). The census is a good tool to represent the universe of French farms and their evolution. It does however lack economic information. Which is where RICA comes in, namely for large or medium sized farms, representative of the units which can be qualified as being “professional farms”. Despite both these databases, we do not have any data on all the activities, such as direct retail, labelled production, etc.
