ECII : Business Outlook Survey on Investment in Industry
Authorisation: Statistical Confidentiality Committee
The purpose of the Business Outlook Survey on Investment in Industry is to convey industrialists' opinions on the current trends in investment (replacement, modernization, expansion of capacity, etc.). It covers in particular: changes in production capacity and equipment downgrades, investments abroad, and factors influencing the investment decision.
The survey contains both qualitative and quantitative questions. For example, respondents are asked to provide the annual amounts of business investment over two years and for the current year, as well as their allocation of investment. The survey covers the manufacturing and extractive industries; divisions 08 to 33 of NAF revision 2 in metropolitan France. It is carried out by sampling industrial companies with 20 or more employees.
