Call for projects: Impact of the minimum wage on employment

In recent years, the reports of the Expert Group on the French Minimum Wage have highlighted the need for further work to measure the impact of increases in the SMIC on employment in order to provide more precise policy recommendations.

As a follow-up to these recommendations of the Expert Group, and in collaboration with the latter in its new composition, France Stratégie, with the support of the Conseil d’analyse économique, is launching a call for research projects on the quantitative impact of minimum wage levels and increases on employment in the French case.

These proposals will be able to mobilise databases of various sources and nature, in particular large French databases of employers and/or employees matched via the secure remote access centre (CASD), and should propose original and feasible econometric identification strategies.

Projects must be submitted to France Stratégie by 5.30 pm on Friday 29 October at the latest.
