The RENTCONT project is part of an evaluation mission commissioned by the Prime Minister and entrusted to Gabrielle Fack and Guillaume Chapelle, with support from the IGF (General Inspectorate of Finance) and the IGEDD (General Inspectorate of the Environment and Sustainable Development). The aim of the project is to assess the impact of rent control measures as implemented by the ALUR and subsequently the ELAN laws, both in the short term—by analyzing observed variations in the data—and in the medium and long term—by relying on structural estimates of the elasticity of supply and demand in the private rental housing market.
