The surveys on the cost of labour and wage structure were put in place in 2006, with the aim of meeting two of Eurostat’s permanent demands on all EU member states: the survey on the cost of labour (ECMO) and the survey on wage structure (ESS).
This survey draws upon the Annual Declarations of Social Data to establish a sample and enrich the survey. These surveys allow us to draw comparisons between the cost of labour and wages in different EU member states.
