The Acemo panel is based on ten years of quarterly Acemo surveys, which aim to provide quarterly changes in the basic monthly wage and basic hourly wage of employees, as well as changes in the collective weekly working time. Respondent establishments must select representative positions for their employees for twelve levels of qualification, defined on the basis of the classification grids of collective agreements. There are three levels for each of the major socio-professional categories: blue-collar workers, white-collar workers, intermediate professions and managers. For each level, establishments report the basic monthly salary and the basic monthly working hours for the last month of the quarter. The twelve job levels thus monitored every quarter constitute the panel.
Each quarter, the survey questions a sample of establishments with 10 or more employees in metropolitan France. All employers are surveyed, with the exception of six categories: agricultural employers, public administration, co-ownership trustees, associations under the 1901 law for social action, household activities and extra-territorial activities.
