The CONSTANCES cohort consists of a random sample of over 200,000 volunteers aged 18 to 69 years at the time of inclusion, with a structure proportional to the population for sex, age and social category. The sample is geographically distributed to represent the main French regions. The data collected include: health examinations and questionnaires, SNDS (French national health data system) and hospitalization data, and socioeconomic data transmitted by the Cnav (French national old-age insurance fund). The GAZEL cohort was set up in 1989 for EDF-GDF employees. The cohort is diversified in terms of social, economic and professional status, health and health-related behaviors. The data collected include: annual self-report questionnaire, EDF-GDF personnel department for social, demographic and professional characteristics, occupational medicine, SNDS, Social Security health examination centres.
