Conducted every six years since 1993, the aim of the Survey on Labour Relations and Agreement Negotiations is to understand the dynamics of industrial relations between management, employee representative bodies and employees. It is therefore made up of three sections: "management representative", "staff representative" and "employees".
The "employees" section interviews a random sample of employees from all establishments contacted to participate in the survey through a mail survey, and it includes information on:
- The function of the employees surveyed,
- The organization of work and the opinion regarding working conditions,
- The relationship with the hierarchy, the vision of staff representation and employee participation.
The scope of the survey includes establishments in the commercial and associative sectors (excluding agriculture) in metropolitan France excluding Corsica. Establishments may be fully-fledged companies or only one of the establishments of a company. Since 2011, only establishments with 11 or more employees are surveyed.
